In my experience, it's exactly the opposite. > > You have a datacenter that amortizes your infrastructure and support?. > That's: some 1.000 nodes. Fine. You buy. > You don't? You're wasting money. Again, oversimplification: it certainly makes no sense for the sites I run, which have millions of hits a day. (Not to mention I'm not keen on giving any 3rd party root access to any machine I would be responsible for... and, yes, Amazon and others can read your volumes if they wanted to... encrypted media is an illusion when you're running in a VM...) Those renting "cloud" space should divulge "oh, yeah, and our provider could always mount our stuff and look at it and we wouldn't even know" in their privacy policy. -- snarlydwarf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74312 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
