Hello,

Does anybody know why do I need to be connected to MySqueezebox.com to
listen to internet radio?

On my PC I can enter for example .pls in WinAmp and I can listen to
some internet radio station directly.

On my Touch, for some reason I must first be connected to
MySqueezebox.com.

Why is that?

Why can't I directly connect to some station?

What if something happens to MySqueezebox.com?
Let's say Logitech gets out of Squeezebox business in few years... and
kills MySqueezebox.com.

My Touch will become useless for listening to internet radio?

I know it is far fetched, but for example, I already have a film
scanner from company named Heidelberg, that I paid 7.000 US$ for.

After couple of years, that company went out of scanner business and
they stopped releasing new drivers and providing any support.

Now I have a functional scanner that I can not use, unless I track down
an old PowerPC Macintosh that still works.

So this is one of the reasons that I don't like to be dependent on some
proprietary web service, to do something really simple like listening to
the radio.

Is there any way to listen to internet radio without using
MySqueezebox.com?

It already happened to me that for some reasons I could not connect to
it, so I had to use my PC and WinAmp.
I was really pi$$ed of.

.
