G'day people, Forgive me for what's probably a dumb question, but where do I set the DNS server for my squeezebox?
My setup: SqueezeBox Duet and Ubuntu Linux. I bought the Duet about a year ago and got it working pretty well, but at some point, I started seeing messages like this: [10-06-24 21:51:02.3945] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::_init_error (190) mysqueezebox.com sync init failed: Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com, will retry in 13800 Similar messages appear at the top of the Plugins tab in SqueezeBox Server. I can't remember when they started; it might have been when I changed my wifi network credentials, or when I did a software update, or when I installed an additional MySQL instance for another project. In any case, the upshot is that I can't play net radio, and my Favourites, Live365 settings, etc. aren't visible in my browser, nor in the remote. I've been able to play MP3s just fine, though, which is why I've put off fixing this for so long. Various forums posts suggest that the solution is changing the DNS server SqueezeBox uses, and I suppose I should make sure all the other network settings are right, too. But I can't find how to do that. I go to Settings in SqueezeBox Server, click the Advanced tab and select Network from the drop-down, and there are options for the web proxy and server port and a few other things, but none of the network parameters that I would expect to see. I've explored other menus, tried using the remote control, have done endless web searches, but all it's lead to is frustration. I fully expect to feel like an idiot when I find out the answer, so as I brace myself, can somebody give it to me?
