Thanks for your reply.

My symptoms are slightly different—I can't play net radio through
SqueezeBox at all, neither with the remote nor in the browser. I can
play net radio on my computer without issue, however, and generally do
not have any connectivity issues at all; I can access
www.squeezenetwork.com and www.mysqueezebox.com and also the U.S. West
Coast IP address you gave me (I live in California).

Assuming that 'SBS Server' means 'SqueezeBox Server' (I've noticed a
lot of people here say 'ATM Machine' and 'PIN Number' as well ;) ), I
followed the steps you gave me, and there were no
improvements—actually, it's worse, since my remote doesn't see my
network anymore. (I turned it off and on as well.) By 'stopping' and
'starting', you mean clicking the power button at the top right of the
web interface? Or is there an actual service I should be accessing?
It's been ages since I've messed with this so I've forgotten how it all
works behind the scenes.

My hardware is a Thinkpad X60s with 2GiB of RAM and two 1.66GHz
processors. It connects wirelessly to a Netgear wireless router. You're
correct that I don't have any virus scanning software, and it's a pretty
normal setup as far as ports go.

It's never quite been clear to me how dependent the SqueezeBox Duet in
my cupboard is on my computer. When it -was- playing internet radio, it
kept playing even after I turned my computer off, but I wasn't able to
access my favourites list, which I was disappointed by. So I guess the
favourites, plus plug-ins like Live365, are stored on my computer.
Clearly it can access my computer (I'm playing MP3s off it right now)
and my computer can access mysqueezebox.com (see above)—what's the
missing link?

The more I try to recall, the more I think that it broke after I
installed that extra MySQL instance. I just did a ps and I see that
there are two mysqld processors running, one using
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/my.cnf, and an additional one—not the
one I installed for that work project—that looks far more generic. But
if the Duet can access MySQL for music, why wouldn't it for plug-ins
and favourites? I guess this is a red herring, but I thought I'd
mention it.

Thanks,
MikZ.
