right, so after playing around with it, unless you explicitly tell your radio to connect to mysq.com, your radio will be 'not connected' on the website. you can test this by, as mentioned above, by going to settings--> home screen--> connect to mysb.com then selecting that on the home screen. if you goto the website now and select 'my player' you will see it connected. so that mystery is solved for me.
