The problem seems to be that a change in mysqeezebox.com sent the devices into some odd mode with no display and the inability to turn them on or off with the IR remote. Accessing them from the remote application in mysqeezebox.com worked, and when you turn them off they respond to IR again and display time date (if you have this configured) but after a while they will go into that no display unresponsive to the IR remote phase again.
You can resolve this with a firmware update (which I could also not find in the menus). The way to do this is to hold down the Brightness key on the IR remote for a while. You will see firmware updating and if you wait a while the unit will reboot and behave like it did a few weeks ago before the screens went blank. Similar to the OP of this message, I also have several decades of IT experience and still do not where you go to change autoupdate to on. Perhaps I will ask my wife (no IT experience) to have a look tonight. afro;604673 Wrote: > I've had the same issue, despite several decades of IT experience, > haven't been able to figure it out, so gave up. > > My girlfriend just solved it in 10 minutes. > > Auto update firmware was switched off.
