How is it implemented though. I mean - can you hit the server with one request for each word within a given distance? Through fast and light lookup-tables?
I don't know what's going on behind the scenes of the various music services. But they quite obviously do jobs of different quality. I've been using Levenshtein-distance to sort the results I received by their similarity to the search term.
