You afford me too much knowledge sir!:p (non gender specific sir, that is ;) ) I just though that if this worked OK, then get a raspberry pi3 and pop LMS on that, still use the NAS for the music files. Or it could just be that the Qnap is Qnapped and in need of a reformat and start again!
