Is there *anything* in the log file? Something is wrong if the log file is empty. You should get a bunch of new lines in the log file every time you restart squidGuard. If you're not getting those, then squidGuard is not able to find the log file, or can't write to it. I mention that because it is very unusual for squidGuard to do the unexpected and not tell you why. Rick
