And right you are. I created a test domains file, instead of using the actual porn/domains file I had, and things started working.

I got my blacklists from squidguard.mesd.k12.or.us, and the porn domains file is 8MB, either the size or something in it makes sg really unhappy.
I'll be playing with it today, if I find something more concrete, I'll post to the list.

Is there *anything* in the log file? Something is wrong if the log file is empty. You should get a bunch of new lines in the log file
every time you restart squidGuard. If you're not getting those, then squidGuard is not able to find the log file, or can't write to
it.


I mention that because it is very unusual for squidGuard to do the
unexpected and not tell you why.
