Hi there I think your only option will be either IDENT authentication (and make squid REQUIRE it!) or standard proxy auth against passwd file/LDAP/NIS or whatever.
In any of those cases (including IDENT), squid does the authentication and passes the username through to squidGuard where filtering takes place. If you're using LDAP, or even if you aren't, be sure to look at the patches available for the current release of squidGuard as they provide bugfixes and extra functionallity (including dynamic filtering based on LDAP queries!). They're available here: http://www.netdirect.ca/software/category.php?cat=SquidGuard Cheers Alex -- Alex Harrington Senior ICT Support Officer Brighon and Hove LEA (My new email address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you need to contact me!)
