  Have you looked at the mail logs to ensure that their connections
  are getting through? Can they login from other locations? Which
  browsers? Can you login to the IMAP server as that user from their
  computers (either telnet or outlook for example)?

1 - i can not find any log on the linux system.
2 - Yes , they can logon to the NT domain and use Outlook without any
problem.
They have used several workstations (at home and in the office ) but with te
same results. 

So, im sure they are using the correct password/username combination.
