Hi, I'm running (well almost) Squirrelmail 1.2.9 with Apache 1.2.7, php4.2, OpenSSL 0.9.6g and imap-uw-2002 on FreeBSD 4.7-Stable. I installed everything from the ports tree (Apache, PHP and OpenSSL were already isntalled and I was already running a secure website). Individually everything seems to be working fine - I changed squirrelmail to point to port 993 for imaps and I can connect to port 993 via telnet. I can connect to the squirrelmail login page via https. However when I enter my login details the connection simply times out after a few minutes without going anywhere. Imapd runs according to top but the connection goes nowhere - not even an error.
I changed auto_start_session to 1 (it was set to 0). Is there any other php.ini settings that need changed - I know uploading needs to be on, and it is, but that wouldn't cause a login problem anyway. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I have searched through google, the imap-uw site and the squirrelmail site and haven't found anything close to helping me solve this, probably very pathetic, problem.
