  Not really... What is happening is PHP is putting the file in a
  temporary file (usually /tmp), then SM copies it to the data/ or
  $attachments directory (if set) and processes from there. SM
  shouldn't be adding or editing the file at any point during that.
  The only time I can think of something happening is during the
  transfer between your computer, and the server... something SM has
  no control over.
