i installed the deb file squirrelmail_1.2.10ja-0.20030201_all.deb .. from
the URL that you sent me...
.... after changing my default language to japanese in the /options/display/
settings, the characters are rendering properly!
i am also able to send correctly encoded japanese text from SM as well!!
