There *IS* a debug flag in config.php in the version of the plugin that
I sent you a few days ago. Straight out of the README:

  * $debug can be helpful for troubleshooting. If you cannot
get your user configuration working, try turning this on.
Set to 0 for no debug (regular operation), set to 1 to
display the current username in place of the regular 'File
Manager' link (and the number 1 if the user is a valid
File Manager user), set to 2 to dump out the contents of
File Manager's config settings at run time.

I just opened the mail that I had sent you and looked for myself...
$debug is there, near the end of the sample config file. Not sure what
else I can do, you just need to make sure you're using that version and
look a little closer.

Dear Paul,

You have mentioned that to use debug flag in config.php, actually there
is nothing like $debug in config.php, I have gone through README there
also they have mentioned about debugging, I am new to linux so I am not
very sure, whether I have to add $debug to config.php and set the debug
level. Pls let me know

Thanks
Suresh
