Who cares?  Your version of SquirrelMail is ancient enough to be retired. 
At the very least upgrade to the last release of the 1.2.x series. 
Preferably upgrade to 1.4.x.

You can always install 1.4 parallel to your 1.2 installation to see how
your users like it first...
