I am running SM 1.4.2 with PHP 4.3.2 with a nice mix of plugins. Everything is as smooth as silk! If many of your customers use it, I expect you will reap in the kudos when you upgrade. (Of course, as always, when you upgrade you will want to protect your current setup until you are satisfied with the results.)
