Sorry I made a mistake. Its not when you go to read the message but try to reply to it. It doesn't happen with every reply just certain ones. I'm trying to find one that doesn't have a lot of sensitive info that I can post.

Also, what version of Squirrelmail are you running? - Christopher Wagner -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Stephen Atkins Sent: Friday, July 30, 2004 12:57 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [SM-USERS] Apache2 takes over CPU with some messages Hello. I'm running a Postfix/mysql/courier/squirrelmail with Apache2 on a Gentoo system. The only problem I'm having is every once and a while (every two or three days) someone will open an email using Squirrelmail and at that point apache starts taking up all the resources on the machine. Memory usage will jump to over 100Megs and CPU usage to around 95%. I can't even stop the service I have to do a 'killall apache' then start apache again to get things going. If the user picks the same email it happens all over again. The messages don't have attachments so thats not the issue. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and is it Apache2 or Squirrelmail or maybe something else. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen Atkins Information Systems [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.skircr.com Resorts of the Canadian Rockies "I use Linux because it's like owning a chainsaw compared to owning a pen knife.
