Not at all. Squirrelmail _exclusively_ talks to your mail server via
IMAP, no matter if it's installed on localhost or on the other side of
the planet. The error message above is one from your IMAP server, not
squirrelmail. Without knowing any of the details of your software (see
the Posting Guidelines link below), it would seem that you haven't
configured your new instance in the same way as the old. Run conf.pl and
look at option 3 (Folder Options) and/or option D (Set pre-defined
settings for specific IMAP servers) and make sure you have chosen the
options that work with your IMAP server. Your IMAP server logs may have
additional information useful to your troubleshooting.
