[SM-USERS] problem with data directory and permissions

Hi everybody.   I’m new of squirrelmail. I have unzipped it on a Fedora server with Postfix + Fetchmail + Dovecot IMAP, but I am not a Linux guru (not at all).   I have followed the instructions and configured SM using conf.pl script. Everything seems to be right.   When I try to login I got the message “error during open ../data/default_pref” … “ “/data/ should be modified from apache”   Even if I try the  “configtest.php” page I got the error: I cannot write to data dir (../data/)   It seems so9mething related to owner and group, but I have changed and verified the whole SM directory is owned by apache user and also the group is apache (all dirs and files) ….   Any suggestion ?   Thanks in advance.
