ok, I configured with
these defines and after installing it refused all logins
now im switched back to the previous setup
with authdaemond till I can figure this out.
I also tried using
--enable-webpass=vpopmail, no change...
any ideas?

--without-authdaemon \
--without-authpam \ --without-authuserdb \ --without-authldap \ --without-authshadow \ --with-authvchkpw kill
authdaemon and never start it again.
