I have a few suggestions for where I think Sqwebmail ought to go - and I
wonder if other people concur or have other suggestions. It might be nice to
have a wishlist which people can work on.
Regards,
Brian. <sqwebmail-wishlist>
Well, I still have the list I put together of suggestions people sent to me when I made a similar request last year sometime.
I submitted to Sam some of the things in this list already, and others I started work on, but never finished. So it's not exactly a list of where SqWebMail should go from where it is now... but it's something like a status page I used for my own reference. (Which means some of the notes might not really be clear to anyone but me, I suppose.) And the status markers were for my own reference obviously.
But anyway... Maybe it'll help with ideas. I still "plan to" do some work on some of the things on this list. But I haven't had any time to spend on it since like... oh... December I think it was. So who knows if I'll get the time in the future either.

CSS, but support old browsers -- usable and not uglier than current code
CSS; target ie5 where incompatibilities arise (sigh); don't "break" old browsers, ugly ok
-> move all script contents into CDATA blocks (re-validate as XHTML 1.0)
-> help link on all pages (hook to specialized page / standard link to help entry page)
i18n (qmailadmin list: ex. of good method)
combined folder/message list view (refresh folder list, not message list, in icky frames?)
threading
-> timezone selection saved (via scripted(?) cookie?)
@-> select all button actually changes other select buttons (script/noscript?)
-> "check for new mail" button / refresh on folder list and folder view
search function (per folder/select folder/admin disabled/etc.)
"delete all messages in folder" button
non-stepped deletions (don't mark deleted, but actually move to trash)
@-> navigation at both top and bottom of message list (i.e. folder view)
sounds (new mail in folder X; per folder; repeat/once/once-per-Xmin/-per-new; saved pref)
field selection in the folder view (& message view?)
export / import address book data
@-> last / first page buttons in folder list
@-> "jump to" input/selection box in folder view
@-> display message range / message number on folder screen
*-> full headers off button
logout timer (i.e. countdown)
-> timeout warning message (when composing messages only?)
cgi-produced "rounded-corners" (the sqwebmail cgi itself, or call an external cgi)
Of course, some things (particularly like the sounds feature similar to Riwos's, and the cgi-produced "rounded-corners" images) are things someone suggested to me, but which I don't personally value very much. -- But nonetheless, you have my To-Do list now to add to whatever you come up with or receive from people.
Hope it helps. =)

P.S. You know... I suppose I could put up a suggestions board (and post the URL) if people were interested in having such a thing. Anyone think it's worth it?
