Greetings,
How exactly does one set up SSH 1.2.26 so that unsuccessful attempts to log
in are logged or otherwise reported?

I want to be able to know when an attempt is made to guess a password by
brute force.

It would appear that SSH allows people an infinite number of login attempts
(at least on Solaris) without disabling the profile or logging the bad
attempts.

I know that Solaris does not disable a profile for bad login attempts, but
with /var/adm/loginlog, it logs bad attempts. The login process writes to
this log, but SSH does not.
