Can't open display on /dev/pts/0

Hi,

Newbie trying out SSH.

Server running HP-UX 10.20, SSH 1.27

SSH login ok, but attempt to run application shows error "Can't open
display on /dev/pts/0".

Is this an OS problem, an SSH problem or an application problem?

Any ideas how to fix this?

Any help or input appreciated.
