Hi Dave,
try using "scp -p". The -p parameter preserves all permission bits on the dest. file.

How can I change the umask  for files that are transferred via sftp ? It 
seems I have top upload the files and then chmod the files.

I want the uploaded files to be 664 instead of 644.
