ldconfig and /etc/ld.so.conf belong in Linuxland only.

On HP the corresponding variable is SHLIB_PATH.

The dynamic loader (corresponding to Linux ld.so) on HP is dld.sl.
The manual pages for both dld.sl and ld (the linker) indicate that
the envariable you tried to find is called SHLIB_PATH.
