Maërklin market two types of 1:32 trains.

1. Accurately scaled finely detailed models made by the injected
moulded plastic process. There are a few USA prototype locos and some
rolling stock. The range is relatively expensive and, faced with the
onslaught of Chinese made 1:29 toys, had little chance of success.

2. A range of Czech made tinplate models of very high quality but
not very accurate or highly detailed. Most of the models are
freelance representations of no specific prototype.
The range was produced in response to what the Europeans thought the
USA LS market wanted. Tin Plate Toy Trains.
