There's an easy way to simulate a headlight if you don't have to have the
real thing. If you're running under low light conditions this technique is
not satisfactory but it works well if you're are running outdoors in the sun
or just want to fill in the hole the manufacturer left where the headlight
should be.

Take a broken piece of mirror and cut out a disc to fit the headlight
housing. Bevel the edge of the disc with a grinding wheel coarse enough to
leave a frosted finish. Also frost the front surface of the mirror. Cement
the disc in the headlight housing so that the beveled edge is just visible.

Now you have a bright white spot just where there should be a bright yellow
spot. The color can be made whatever you like by using a frosted glass cover
plate, however.
