Have posted to SitG too. The plastic on top of switches removed by
little tooth marks etc. etc.-----
Response suggested mothball flakes, Bitter Apple canine gnaw repellent,
firearms, pepper spray, traps, cats and electric shock. 
Action: Bought Fido Guard Model 525 for $30.00, looking for Flakes,
pepper and gnaw repellent. Although Endowment NRA mbr, cannot confirm
gun and trap activity. Local ordinance, you know. Thanks to all
responders. This list permitted suggestions from Austrailia, California
