Absolutely. English locomotives did not have headlights. They carried various combinations of signal lamps on the front of the loco to indicate the class of the train i.e. express passenger, stopping goods (freight) etc.I am finishing up a English profile live steam tank engine and was going to put a light on it. looking at images Via Goggle it does not look like that is common practice . Is that the case ?
