However, I did some checking. Maximum major diameter for 0-80 is listed as .059". Now, my friends, 1/16" wire is .062". This leaves three thou for the die to take off the top of the thread, you'll want to lubricate the cut, but this shouldn't present a significant problem. I recommend either using beeswax, or if you can find it locally(it can be expensive, but it's great), Jockisch. It's a yellow paste that comes in a small tin, need a brush to apply. Load the clearances in the die with it, and it would probably be a good idea to back off every quarter-turn.
