Okay, steam fans... Here's a trivia question for you. I'm looking  
over some Baldwin spec sheets for some early East Broad Top  
locomotives, and I'm seeing a reference to a "Le Chatelier" valve.  
Near as I can tell, it has something to do with the Eames vacuum  
brake system. The notation says "Le Chatelier valve on line of lower  
gauge cock."

Any thoughts as to what this valve is, and what it does?
