This is not a vote anyway, as the subject line doesn't say [VOTE] ;-) Using +1s to express agreement is perfectly fine, but in all projects that I know (and I think it is a hard rule) a vote doesn't count at Apache unless the subject line contains [VOTE]. I suggest using this rule here as well. This, and the 72-hour minimum duration for votes, is done so that people who only skim the list after being away for a bit don't miss votes. Also makes it easy to find decisions later in the mailing list archives. See also http://www.apache.org/foundation/voting.html -Bertrand (hope this helps, not trying to be paternalistic, just explaining things as this is a new podling)
