First, thanks for the alert on the RAM upgrade at Velocity Upgrades. I
have been meaning to add more memory and this seems like a good price.
based on some of the recent comments, a processor upgrade to my humble
3000/180 looks like it might be worth the cost. While I was there I noted
they have the Crescendo processor upgrade for the Starmax. I had assumed
that processor upgrades where just that, the processor. Thus while
processor upgrades are nice, one still must deal with the same memory bus
etc. What caught my eye was the "Includes a FREE 32MB/2K Refresh/Dimm" at
the end of the note. With the 32MB comment, am I to assume that the memory
goes on the card? Also, if I buy the DIMMS for the current config, what
does that mean should I buy the upgrade? What's the whole story here? How'
s folks experience been with the Crescendo?
