Hi, guys.
I am having really good luck with my Yamaha CRW 8824E, 8x CD-R write, which
is good: 8x CD-RW write, which is excellent; and 24x read, which is good.
The unit is IDE (ATAPI) which is perfect for the ATA 0 bus in StarmMaxen.  I
would say give up your IDE and replace it.  No SCSI hassles, and the ATA bus
is plenty fast enough for 8x RW.  Coasters are usually my fault, not the
setup.
