I have not heard of anyone who was displeased with their G3 card,
regardless of make or speed. AFAIK, of all the companies that made G3 cards
for the Starmax/ PM4400, only Sonnet is still in business. Many Starmaxer's
have Sonnet or Newer Technology G3 cards. They are easy to install and you
usually get an instruction sheet with the card.
Your PM4400 is similar to my Starmax desktop model. I have had no heat
problems with my Newer Tech card, though it has a small fan on it. I'm not
sure if the Sonnet cards have fans. The speed boost is quite noticable, but
I don't have any hard numbers for you.
