As I thought I remembered it, the Starmax allowed only one ATA device
per slot. The CD drive was connected to slot 1 and no other device could
be added  The #2 slot accepted the IDE hard drive in a single
configuration--no master and slave.

However I have 2 drives, a 10 and a 12g, I pulled from my old starmax
that must have resided in that single machine. Now, did I disconnect the
CD and use a slot for each (in the single configuration) or was I able
to have all 3 working together? I honestly don't remember. Certainly, I
prefer all three, but I suspect the brilliance of Apple just
unnecessarily crippled us again.

Please tell me I can and what the secret would be.
