Hi,
I was able to buy a used ide drive(IBM from a PC) and installed it. My
starmax started right up and as there was a startup disk in the CDROM,
it started from the CD. When it got to the new PC disk it took a long
time to "rebuild the desktop". All the PC files showed up.
Maybe my case was different because I had no ide drive AND a new PRAM
battery as well.
I am happy that my MAX is back to normal. Now I just have to figure out
why FEDEX hasn't delivered the new ram for my and my son's STARMAX.
