I ordered RAM from Velocity Upgrades, on August 1, online. I make a phone call to verify the price for the StaMax RAM. 2. About noon (EDT), on August 9, my office was contacted because they felt they couldn't ship to a street address with no number (We get three to ten packages via UOS and FedEx everyday without it, We are on a street with three other businesses that could never have their name confused with us.) My office administrator points out we don't have a street number. They say they'll ship it out that afternoon. 3. On August 13, I recieve my bank statement showing the amount from them was billed to my debit account on August 1. 4. On August 15, I call and I'm told it was held up, by shipping, due to an incomplete delivery address! I am assured it will be shipped, at a free updated delivery method, that afternoon. The fact that I was charged for the product was ignored. As I have put off installation in a customer's StarMax the prior weekend, I am assured I will get it by Friday. 5. On August 17, Friday, I come back to work, after being gone all day, to find a note that the RAM did not arrive. I call my customer and he says forget it, he'll find someone who can do the job "NOW". 6. On August 18, I get an email message from FedEx saying they picked it up at about 3:00 PM (PDT). 7. On August 20, it does not arrive by the last shipment of either carrier. I call VU and they say, "Sorry". But they can't credit my card or offer a cut in the price for my inconvenience. 8. On August 21, it arrives. The 168's for a PPC 7300 fit. I must modify the StarMax RAM, a week later, to install it (at cost) in a freind's computer. In the meantime, I order more RAM from my past vendor (in CA) abd it arrives in three days, without express delivery. It cost me 8 dollars more, but I kept that customer happy. Now I'm sure there are many success stories about ordering from Velocity Upgrades, this is just my experience. I'll not be ordering from them again.
