I have to say that, while long and un-managed quotations from messages are hard to follow, I see nothing wrong with larger quantities of original content, such as Bob's interesting research on batteries, something I will have to bear in mind if ever my battery goes, seemingly a more severe issue than the harmless fun I had with my old LC. As for actually limiting messages to 13k, well, I have never typed enough to have had a problem with that, and I can't comment on whether the limit is too low. But, other than the messages Bob tried to send, I have seen no evidence so far of anyone else having a problem with that. As for pictures, it would be best not to attach them, let the people who actually want them to get them from a web URL, or receive them personally. What annoys me more is that ko,the moderator, feels the need to continually remind us of the netiquette for the StarMax list every few days at least, which is becoming quite tiresome now. And the latest set of messages from ko received today all seemed pointless. Not only that, but the titles of the messages, while correct in relation to the messages they were replies to, were all the same, making it impossible to tell from my Inbox what any of them were really about. This seems to stem from other users forgetting to change the title of earlier messages. Finally, as regards to HTML-based messages, I have no problem with basic coloured text (using Outlook Express 5, yeah I know, Microshaft) but I get particularly annoyed with messages that involve complete page layout, because that forces OE to load in all the required code to handle that, which takes ages and holds up the program until it's done. - Daniel Beardsmore.
