Well... Howdy folks! I'm not much of an electronics hacker, but I just gotta check out if there is a stable bus clock hack over 40Mz out there. I found one google link; 'http://home.t-online.de/home/andreas.kann/44002.html' (no date on the html) & although it's geek/greek to me, it seems someone has managed to get the bus up to 50Mz, then had to get a faster cache card, & switch a resistor (that was on a 4000/200). Humm...
However, my 3000/200 cache slot has a 320Mz JoeCard instead. That oughta screw things up, as if there aren't 12 other things that would. I'm not optimistic, but thought I'd check around. I searched thru your StarMax archives for anything close, but no hits. Any suggestions, exept for 'quit dreaming'? Stats: StarMax 3000/200 (a crashed freebee from a relative who [shudder] bought a PC) 160 megs RAM Toshiba CD-RW/DVD-ROM (99.9% compatible/bootable, but slow) Maxtor 80 gig HD (nice for mp3 freaks, like me) Metabox JoeCard 320 (gosh, couldn't live without it) Ultmat Rez Video card (if nothing else it's a better connector, it's not & I'm not a gamer) Farallon Ethernet Card (used to be for broadband cable) USB card (was bought for broadband, never used) SIIG 133 ATA card (bought to bring out the best in my Maxtor, but now I gotta buy another HD to backup (bones: 30+ CD's) & then re-format to use it. I just gotta learn to look for the fine print.
