I wouldn't spend more than $100 on a G3 upgrade, it's simply not worth it. You could probally get a used Beige G3 for around $230, which would be a much wiser investment. And it unlike the Starmax, even one with a G3 upgrade, would be OS X capable, OS 9.1 is the end of the line for the Starmax.
