Well,
Encouraged by all the responses pertaining to a dead battery
I decided to forage through the machine looking for that velcro strip
you mentioned. Well, I found the Velcro strip but it was EMPTY! I
didn't really know what the battery was supposed to look like so I
was just wandering through the machine until I noticed something
sitting on an empty bay shelf under the CD Rom Drive and lo and
behold, there was a 1 inch square black Ray-o-Vac battery. (Thank you
very much CompUSA) I was looking for a clock battery the size of a
quarter!! Anyway, the obvious question now is where will I be able to
locate such a battery. Are they still in business????? I've never
seen one like this. Maybe Radio Shack. I should be so lucky!!
Anyway it's a 4.5V alkaline battery with a red and black 6" long
wire leading into a small connector that attaches to the mother
board. Anybody got any ideas about where to locate a replacement????
Oh BTW, I remember someone mentioning the CUDA switch before! It was
referring to my Power Computing machine at home, also a clone. I
found it after a lot of searching around. I JUST found the CUDA
switch on this one so IF I can find a new battery and a number 2
pencil with an eraser..........I MIGHT be back in business!!! All
thanks to you guys on this list!! Well, let's see what I can find!
I'll let you know how I make out..............or if one of you knows
where I might get my hands on such a battery let me know. I'll owe
you a sixpack of your choice!! :-)

                Regards, Jim
