StarMaxes call for Rayovac 840s which are scarce. Rayovac 844s, widely
available in computer stores, will work. They come with the
right plug, and a piece of velcro. They're twice as long and more powerful!
Rayovac stopped making these a few years ago, but [EMAIL PROTECTED]
has a few cases of the 844b new old stock that still measure very close to
4.5v. Same cable and connector, plus new velcro mounting so you can stick
it any place. $5 each, 3/$10 plus shipping which is $2/1, $4/3. Email him
to confirm, with your full shipping address.
The StarMax battery is also available at TD Curran Online for only $6.95:

$12...Jameco, http://www.jameco.com, $8.95 plus shipping, Part number
150965, Alkaline, 4.5 [EMAIL PROTECTED] has it for $15.95 with free
