Hi again all!
I just thought I'd pass this info along as a point of
information. When I located this particular site
http://www.dttservice.com/starmax.html (sorry for the previous
erroneous address) and saw that they were servicing Starmax I thought
I'd send them a fax to see if they'd respond to my inquiry about the
mother board and power supply issues. It was a few days, but a "TD"
called me back personally to tell me that they do repair the Starmax
and what's on the site is pretty much the way it works with them. He
gave me his 800 622-7977 number and the address (same as appears on
his website) to send the unit to. He says they'll check it out to
find the problem and then call me to tell me what the story is. It
seems legit enough on the face of it, but of course there's always
the chance that it could be a scam. The person I spoke to had a
definite oriental accent (no offense here, I'm oriental myself) and
seemed very accommodating and willing to try to resolve my
difficulties.
I'll give this a few more days and then I'll bite the bullet
and ship it off. I'll be the guinea pig to see if we've found a place
to get Starmaxes repaired properly. Stay tuned!!!!
        Thanks Linda!!! Jim
