It can be frustrating because it can be lying to you and what it asks for
can be named something else.
I only vaguely recall having this problem; I think it was having something
installed as opposed to
not having something. Bill sounds like he's had a problem with
"Objectsupportlib" so see if that's it.
My son is running Netscape 4.7 with OS 9.1 with no problem. That's just 4.7
not newer so maybe an
update or going backwards.
Maybe you're ready to do the ole "hunt down the extension conflict" by
either starting up under
base extensions or no extensions by booting with the shift key down. See if
it will work. Then look
in the Extension Manager with your previous set shown and try to narrow
things down.
There shouldn't be too many it could be since you can rule out so many
(printing, scanning, etc.).
Personally, I would turn off all that networking and internet stuff
(extensions) in the Manager and see what you can get away with, the less
extensions on the better. Get to know your extensions! Look close at what
the manager says about them, try to understand what they do, what program
they are part of. Most are obvious, some are mysterious. You will use less
RAM and computing power the less stuff loaded. When you get a nice slim
extension set go with that, if you then need something turn it back on.

I used a SM4200DT when I had similar and different problems twice, and
I
believe the one like yours was solved by updating my browser to a
higher
version - probably 4.79. I now have upgraded to a G3 card.
Also make sure you don't have that infamous Objectsupportlib installed
-
I still find it gets reinstalled every once-in-awhile by some software
including fairly recent Mac operating systems. It can screw you up but
good.
Good Luck.
