Hi Gang- My 3000/180 has started freezing during restart. Any method I use (special menu, power key restart option, or front panel restart button) to restart while the machine is running results in this freeze. The startup bar gets to a point that appears to be just before extension loading and just sits there.
I've done the following running OS 8.6, no accelerators: Ran Conflict Catcher 8.0 with no problems reported Ran Disk First Aid with no problems reported Reset PRAM Rebuilt desktop Disconnected SCSI chain at the motherboard. Reset all plug-in boards, including memory Tried restarts with memory test disabled Switched HDs (previous one w/8.6 is still in unit) I'm out of ideas. I'm not dead in the water since I can startup from a total shutdown stage but if I want to do a restart then I have to shut down from the power key, then startup with the power key or the front panel power switch. When it hangs I have to shut down using the front panel power switch which results in the "you did a bad thing" disk scan after the next startup.
