Config: Starmax OS8.6 'hubbed' with a Window's XP PC, both with 10/100 ethernet cards into a 8 node 10BaseT dumb hub. Serv-u ftp server running on windows machine.
Problem When Ftp'ing a large (600M) file from the mac to the pc, the mac hangs... It does appear to be somewhat random in nature, but I have yet to get one copy to complete without a hang.. sometimes its as little as 20meg's moved before a hand, other times, it will go past 500meg . I've tried 2 different ftp programs ( Fetch/Transmit) to no avail. The window's machine does not hang. The hang on the mac requires a power-button reboot.. it is locked up solidy. Any suggestions on my next course of action? I vaguely recall a problem with starmax's when they first came out about a problem maintaining a sustained transfer.. but I thought it was disk to disk or disk to disc....
