While I think the restart problem is due to a bad
connection in the power circuit, caused by vibrations
or even heat, it could still be the PRAM battery. In
my 5 years experience with  Starmaxes I would say that
90% of all problems are connected to a weak or dead
battery. An excellent article on how a run down
battery can effect almost anything by effecting the
PRAM can be found on the Yahoo Starmax-Talk site. Its
not hard to test the voltage of the PRAM battery. If
you have a machine that has the battery located in a
difficult spot to get to, just move it. The leads
should be long enough.
